The Peacock 567

"So", says Tommy, seating himself next to Carl.  "You guys are like a monastery."

"Without the frills", says Carl.  "And we're co-ed.  And we're not all Catholic.  And really, we're kind of informal.  And really, right now, we seem to be all caught in a state of transition.",

Matthew says, "We used to be, until just today, two separate communities coexisting under one roof.  And just today we have all amalgamated.  We think it's going to be better this way."

"Plus", says Jennifer, " we come from rather diverse backgrounds."

"Anything to do with the Benedictines across the valley?"

"Some are refugees", says Carl.  "Jeff and George, for example, are from the Abbey.  And Francois, as well. Matthew, Michael, Adam and Lazarus, along with two others who are back at the house right now, come from a  different, interdenominational group that started on Vancouver Island.,  And Sarah, Jennifer, and another lady who is at the house right now, all kind of filtered in together from the Anglican Church.  Plus, we have our guests here, Aaron, Christopher, Jesús, and Carol who is also back at the house. "

"You said refugees from the abbey?" says Tommy.

"That is exactly what he said", says George.   "And what he meant."

"What happened there?"
