"Dorothy? She's doing okay. She's already thinking about retirement. Getting sick of being a shopkeeper, she says, though the tourists are plentiful and generous when it comes to anything on Granville Island."
"I have often wondered about the appeal of that place."
"As have I. But that place has kept me housed, fed and decently clothed for years so I am not about to bite the hand that has fed me."
"Do you have a lot of contact?"
"We phone or text each other almost every day. Mom's passing has really brought us closer. We are even talking, both of us, about sharing this house, since Grandma did write something about this in her will."
"Have you decided yet."
"Almost. Just about..."
