I am out of coffee here, so it's going to be plan B. I can sit over a cappuccino and read more of Karen's gripping memoir. It isn't far. I just have to walk to Pender, then walk through Victory Park. It is still raining and I left my umbrella at home. Doesn't matter. The cool wet in my hair and on my head and steaming down my forehead is waking me up. Facing me from the other side of the park, the Beaux Artes Monstrosity of the Dominion Building, all yellow ochre and brick red with all the gaudy ornamentation of a heritage building in Mexico City. Really one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful building in Vancouver.
