"He said that this house is cursed. It has been under a curse for a long time, ever since Carl and Melissa´s great grandfather obtained the property. That the curse", says Adam, directing towards Carl, "comes from your great grandfather."
"None of which surprises me", says Carl quietly. "Do continue please."
"He told me that your great grandfather owned and operated a silver mine in Indonesia", says Adam. "He went onto say that Indonesian miners were treated like slaves and often worked to death. The local women were also often raped and abused by the Dutch overseers, including your great grandfather and some of his relatives. The wealth that your great grandfather gained was the very blood, flesh and bones of people that he exploited and treated with savage cruelty. On top of everything else, this property where we are living is sacred ground to the local native people, and this land was never legally ceded to either the government of this country, nor to your great grandfather. This place is under a curse."
We are all quiet and rapt, upon hearing those words. Carl breaks the silence by saying "Anything else?"
Adam continues, "A great destruction is awaiting this place, which can only be prevented when there is some form of reconciliation with the people your ancestors have harmed."
"Any recommendations", says Carl.
"The Angel, and I believe him to be an angel, said one thing. Very soon, a descendent, a daughter of rape will be visiting here. The fate and future of this place is going to rest upon her good will and desire to cooperate..."
