"I live in a mansion in the mountains overlooking the Fraser valley, not too far from Chilliwack. It has been in my family since my great grandfather built it just after the First World War. It seems to have become a retreat centre. There is also a community living there of which Francois is a member. Chris arrived there a week ago on retreat. We have all become suddenly and very close."
"Yes, I see", says Deacon Jenkins. "Would Robert Griffin be connected to this place."
"He has been very involved", says Carl.
"And you wish to leave". says Karen Wilson.
"Long story", says Carl, who clearly neither trusts our visitors, nor is about to give away for free anything above or beyond the most essential facts. "You mentioned, by the way, that you have contracted a cleaning company to take care of the basement."
"They should be arriving in less than an hour", says Deacon Jenkins.
"Would you like to see the basement after breakfast?"
"I suppose that would be necessary..."
